六、 課程概述:
(Course Description)
本課程旨在培養學生國際職場英語文能力,並融合專業素養教育,以強化學生就業競爭力、符合國際職場需求。課程內容以國際職場常用英語為主,加強聽說讀寫能力的訓練,課程主題包含英文履歷及自傳撰寫、求職面試、自我介紹、商務應對、電話接聽、出差旅遊、會議簡報、商務英文閱讀與書信撰寫等。另外,為培育學生成為具英語基本能力的地球村公民,本課程除加強基本語文溝通表達能力,亦涵蓋終身學習、多元文化、宏觀視野、公民參與等通識素養核心能力。

(Course Objectives)
This course is designed to help students expand their vocabulary, and employ appropriate reading skills to facilitate comprehension. Included in these skills are the ability to make inferences, the determine meaning of vocabulary in context, and the extract main ideas from a passage.To develop students four skills in reading writing, speaking and listening.The course covers four skills of listening,speaking, reading and writing while seeking to develop both fluency and accuracy in English communication skills. To reinforce students’ reading and writing skills. To strengthen students’ listening and speaking ability thru audio/video/oral activities and practice. Students will be able to use English to express opinions with confidence in communicative situations. To be able to develop high-intermediate skills in reading and writing.To acquire real world listening and oral skills.

九、 教學方法:
(Teaching Methods)
Listening: The listening tasks teach strategies for use in real-life situations. In real world listening situations, both in the native language and other languages, people listen not for specific words but for the general topic and the information that they need. Speaking: An important part of these speaking activities is for students to speak as naturally as possible. Detailed directions for listening activities include: present the conversation, explain any difficult vocabulary, students practice the conversation witha partner, role play. Through the use of reading, main idea exercises, skimming and scanning activities, the foundation skills are identified, developed and applied. A secondary focus of this course is on training students’ oral production and listening comprehension of simple phrases and sentences. To supplement classroom instruction, on-line learning materials and a designated number of graded readers( with headwords from 1000 to 2000) are assigned to students as outside-reading to develop their interest and fluency in reading. Instructions for writing activities: Have students write about the topic, Help students generate ideas, Have students write a first draft, Have students share their work, Have students revise and edit their work. Give feed back.
