六、 課程概述:
(Course Description)
"This two-semester course is aimed at training students with advanced and professional writing ability. The process of writing research-paper and study plan will be especially reinforced and recapitulated in order to help students with their further study. By providing samples of good-quality research papers and study plans, students are required to produce their own writing works through peer editing and teacher-correction. "
七、 課程目標:
(Course Objectives)
The objectives for this course are to: -

1. Further familiarise students with English writing techniques.
2. To develop students English writing skills in various written forms.
3. To develop subject research and analysis skills and apply them to written English.
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to distinguish the different types of sentence, paragraph and Essay and write well-constructed examples of each type.

2. Review Academic Writing; Process writing and the paragraph. 3 hrs.
3. Unity and coherence Composition one. 3 hrs.
4. The Essay, types and logical order. 3 hrs.
5. Concrete support, Start project one (compositin two) 3 hrs.
6. Project one progress review 3 hrs,
7. Mid Term Exam (report) 3 hrs,
8. Genres of Professional writing 3 hrs.
9. Types of letter, Composition three 3 hrs,
10. Writing a Curriculum Vitae (Composition 4), 3 hrs,
11. Research preparation. Team exercise 3hrs
12. Team report review, 3 hrs,
13. Finalise report 3 hrs,
14. Final review and makeups 3 hrs,
九、 教學方法:
(Teaching Methods)
Lectures - theory of Writing; Teacher guided textbook writing exercises in addition to free practice in the form of independent writing and vocabulary development activities.

Handouts from various texts. Internet accessed papers.

Grading will be from formative activities and examinations. Records will be kept on a form that records in-class work and applied performance activities that demonstrate mastery of key competencies and anecdotal evidence of student growth.
