六、 課程概述:
(Course Description)
"This two-semester course is aimed at training students with advanced and professional writing ability. The process of writing research-paper and study plan will be especially reinforced and recapitulated in order to help students with their further study. By providing samples of good-quality research papers and study plans, students are required to produce their own writing works through peer editing and teacher-correction. "
七、 課程目標:
(Course Objectives)
The objectives for this course are to: -
1. Familiarise students with English writing techniques.
2. To develop students English writing skills in various written forms.
3. To develop subject research and analysis skills and apply them to written English.
Upon completion of the course, students should be able to distinguish the different types of sentences, and compositions and write well-constructed examples of each type.

Learning sessions will cover:-
1. Course introduction and Review of first semester. 3 hrs.
2. Unit 5: ‘Analyzing Processes’: Reading on process writing 3 hrs.
3. Unit 5: Using connecting words for process analysis 3 hrs.
4. Unit 5: Essay describing a process 3 hrs.
5. Unit 6: Comparing and contrasting; 3 hrs.
6. Unit 6: Reading and grammar review 3 hrs,
7. Mid Term Exam; The Comparative essay, 3 hours.
8. Unit 7 Classifying: principle of classification 3 hrs,
9. Unit 7 Readings and essay 3 hrs,
10. Unit 8: Evaluating Effects Reading and opinion; 3 hrs,
11. Unit 8: Essay 3 hrs,
13. Grammar review; Abverbial clauses; 3 hrs,
14. Final Exam 3 hours.

Teaching methods,
Lectures - Teacher guided textbook writing exercises in addition to free practice in the form of independent writing and vocabulary development activities. Compositions using ETS Criterion online writing program.
