六、 課程概述:
(Course Description)
This course intends to provide the guidelines of curriculum design, and introduce a wide range of activities and techniques which can be used for teaching English to children. In this course, the students will be provided opportunities to write a lesson plan and design activities and teaching materials according to the needs of target learners.

(Course Objectives)
On completion of the course, students will
1) have a basic theoretical knowledge of the role of dictionaries, newspapers, film, and music in the language learning classroom.
2) be able to effectively use one of these materials in a language lesson taught to their peers.

(Teaching Materials)
This depends on the kind of practical that the student chooses. VCR, TV, tape recorder, CD player are all available if needed, though the student will need to be familiar with their operation. Occasionally, students may be asked to bring a good dictionary or a copy of an English newspaper to class.

Test of theoretical knowledge (in week 9) – 40%
Test of theoretical knowledge (in week 14) – 10%
Practical teaching demonstration – 50%
