(Course Description)
本課程乃透過對人類歷史發展及文明進程普遍知識之闡述,使學生能瞭解各國歷史與文化之異同,及其互為的關係,並豐富學生文化與道德倫理之涵養。從宏觀角度審視人類在歷史上之各種成就,培養學生溝通表達、終身學習、理性思辨的能力,介紹全人類的文化知識,闡述人類文化之價值與功用,培養學生在社會上之公民參與之意願,達己達人。

1.使學生能明瞭歷史與文化的關係,及文化對人類生活的影響。
2.使學生能說出人類文化的共同性,並分析其異同與特色。
3.使學生對人類歷史有一概括的認識。
4.使學生養成對各不同民族之歷史有尊重的態度。
5.使學生有回顧過去的洞察力及計畫將來的能力。
6.使學生產生對人類的歷史與文化之熱愛,提升自我超越的能力。
7.使學生培養出宏觀的人生觀,達已達人。

In this course students become acquainted with several influential civilizations in the history of our planet. The course also asks students to explore issues such as “What is history?” “How did civilization come to be?” “History and the future” and “Civilization and the future”.
